Mill Valley, CA: Boundary Solutions, Inc.’s (BSI) National ParcelMap Data Portal (NPDP) now contains over 60 million parcels representing more than 400 U.S. jurisdictions.

Twenty–five million parcels, representing 120 jurisdictions are available online. Parcels are normalized to a single spatial data protocol and ready for immediate use upon download. Other parcel maps are available on request.

Developed in response to BSI client needs, this inventory is a major step toward the establishment of an online Nation ParcelMap Data Portal with over 75 million parcels from over 600 U.S. jurisdictions. New developments in support of federal programs may make completion of the NPDP a realization this year.

NPDP clients include:

  • National flood hazard certification companies improving operational accuracy and throughput.
  • Natural/manmade hazard disclosure service companies improving accuracy and throughput.
  • Engineering firm establishing a statewide infrastructure data model.
  • An R&D company supporting a five-city hazard management practice study for FEMA.
  • An insurance information service company establishing a large metropolitan area pilot project.
  • A real estate information company added parcel boundaries to its online service offerings.

BSI works with jurisdictions throughout the nation to expedite the establishment of data sharing policies where there are none and to expedite the lowering of price points that prohibit broad use of digital parcel data by industry.

Boundary Solutions Inc. assembled the most extensive database of parcel map data available from jurisdictions throughout the United States. Terms and conditions for its acquisition, use and updates are in place for 90% of the nation’s major metros. All content is normalized, regardless of source format, to a single national spatial configuration so that an application that works in Seattle also works in St. Pete. In September 2003, the US Patent Office published BSI’s U.S. Patent Application #20030140064 for a National Online ParcelMap Data Portal (NPDP). This patent includes the establishment of an online national parcel map data server that enables its users to operate parcel GIS data models as well as an application programming interface that helps simplify using the data and creating applications.
