NPDP Data Standards

A common data structure is applied to all databases. Each jurisdiction is delivered as a single SHP file with all parcel boundaries as closed polygons supported by embedded APN geocode value for quick linking to property records. All share a common NAD 83 national map projection for as-is matching with other national data sets and easy projecting as needed.

  • Property Attribute Records are available with owner & actual (situs) address, tax assessments, year built, use code, others.
  • Common Naming Convention of themes, attribute names and views.
  • Common Street Name Convention including a street centerline theme for formatting street names your way.
  • Common Map Projection is a "deprojected" World Projection:

         Coverage Area: United States
         Map Units: Decimal Degrees
         Distance Units: Miles
         Type:Geographic
         Category: Projection of the World
Geodetic Model Horizontal Datum: GCS North American 1983
         Prime Meridian Greenwich
         Ellipsoid Name: GRS 1980
         Coordinate Adjustments:
           West Coordinate:  -169
           East Coordinate:    -64

  • Current Metadata Record is included with each database.
  • Data Delivery is available as downloads or on CD; your choice
  • One Release Agreement fits (almost all). A few require a “seamless” direct license with data sponsor arranged by BSI.
  • Automated Updates on a quarterly basis available for over 80%, others updated once or twice a year.
